Create an Affiliate

Creating an affiliate issues a portal login, an ID that conversions attribute to, and a balance that accrues what you owe. The form is short — the judgement is in who you approve, not in filling it in.

Creating the Account

Go to Affiliates → Create New.

Account Credentials

FieldRequiredNotes
Email AddressRequiredThe portal login and the destination for every notification. Must be unique on your network.
PasswordRequiredInitial portal password. Send it over a channel separate from the email address itself.
Use the affiliate's real working address

Payment notifications, campaign approvals and password resets all go here, and changing it later is an account-security operation rather than a quick edit. A shared team inbox is fine; a personal address that will leave with one employee is not.

Personal Details

FieldNotes
First Name / Last NameThe person you deal with. Shown across the admin panel and on invoices.
GenderOptional profile field.
StatusActive, Pending or Rejected. Active grants immediate access to every Public campaign.
Mobile NumberWith country code. Used for account recovery and urgent contact.
Create as Pending if you have not vetted them

Pending lets you set the account up without opening your campaign inventory. Switch to Active once you are satisfied with their traffic sources.

Organisation

FieldNotes
CompanyThe legal entity you contract and invoice. Not always the same as the person's name.
WebsiteTheir main property. Worth actually opening before approving.
Account ManagerThe team member who owns the relationship. Also scopes which team members can see this affiliate.

After Creating

  1. Grant campaign access

Public campaigns are available immediately. For Private or approval-gated campaigns, add them on the campaign's Affiliates tab.

  2. Apply any negotiated rate

A rate agreed with this partner belongs in Payout Rules, conditioned on their affiliate ID.

  3. Send their tracking link

Build it in the campaign's tracking URL builder — see Generate a Tracking URL.

  4. Point them at their portal

Reports, creatives and their balance all live there — see Affiliate Portal: Getting Started.

Vetting Questions

Before switching an account to Active, get answers to these. Vague answers are themselves an answer.

Where does the traffic come from? Named sources and properties, not "various networks".
Do they use incentives, pop traffic or email? All legitimate somewhere, and all banned on some offers.
Which networks have they worked with? References in this industry are checkable and worth checking.
Which geos do they actually deliver? Should match the campaigns you are about to open.
Is the company real? A registered entity and a working website take two minutes to confirm.
