Payout Terms & Payout Run

Pay affiliates on a schedule. Set a minimum payout, Net-15 or Net-30 payment terms and a weekly, fortnightly, twice-monthly or monthly cycle once — then Payout Run lists exactly who to invoice each cycle.

Setting Payout Terms

Go to Settings → Payout Terms and switch on Apply payout terms to affiliate commissions. The default terms apply to every affiliate and every commission type unless you give an affiliate custom terms.

SettingWhat it does
Payout cycleThe period each invoice covers.
Minimum payoutBelow this, the balance rolls over to the next cycle. Use 0 for no minimum.
Payment termsNet-N: how many days after the cycle closes payment is due.
Hold payments below the minimumMass Payments leaves out affiliates whose unpaid invoices total less than their minimum and shows them as held. Nothing is lost — the balance carries forward.
Show terms to affiliatesAffiliates see their minimum, progress, cycle and next payout date on their Earnings page.
Note to affiliatesOptional text shown under their payout terms.

The live preview on the page shows the current cycle, when it will be invoiced and when payment is due, using today's date.

Payout Cycles

Cycles follow your account timezone. Net-N days are counted from the day the cycle closes.

Worked Example

Terms: monthly cycle, Net-30, $100 minimum.

  • An affiliate earns $340 in approved commissions in September. The cycle closes on 30 September; payment is due by 30 October.
  • Another earns $60 in September. That is below the minimum, so it carries forward. If they earn $70 in October, the October cycle invoices $130.

Custom Terms per Affiliate

Open an affiliate's profile and go to Billing & Balance → Payout Terms — for example, weekly payouts for a top partner. Fields you leave blank follow the default. Settings → Payout Terms lists every affiliate on custom terms.

Payout Run

Open Affiliates → Payout Run after a cycle closes. It lists unbilled approved earnings up to the end of each affiliate's last closed cycle, minus anything already invoiced:

  • Ready to invoice — each affiliate's terms, billing period, unbilled amount, due date and progress to their minimum. Click Create invoice to open the invoice builder with the period and amount filled in.
  • Below minimum — carried forward — not invoiced this cycle; the balance is added to the next one. Use Invoice anyway to pay early.

In the invoice builder, Add Unbilled Earnings pulls the same amount into any invoice. Pay the invoices from Mass Payments, which now shows a Due column.

What Affiliates See

When Show terms to affiliates is on, the Earnings page has a Your payout terms card with their cycle, minimum, progress and next payout date — fewer "when do I get paid?" tickets.
