Click Lookup

Paste one ID and see everything that happened to that click on a single screen: why the tracker accepted or rejected it, every conversion on it, cap hits, and each postback in and out.

What Click Lookup Shows

Open Reports → Logs → Click Lookup, paste an ID and click Trace. Use it when an affiliate asks "why wasn't my conversion counted?" or an advertiser says a postback never arrived.

  • Verdict — what the tracker decided when the click arrived, with a link to the targeting rule that caught it, and the fraud score and reasons when there are any.
  • Click details — campaign, affiliate, advertiser, time, redirect speed, unique or repeat, IP, location, ISP / carrier, device, language, source, referrer, landing page, payout and revenue.
  • Timeline — everything recorded against the click, oldest first: conversions, cap hits, advertiser postbacks received, affiliate postbacks sent and Conversions API uploads.
  • Conversions — each conversion with its event, status, transaction ID, payout, hold date and the reason it was rejected or held.

Times are shown in your account timezone. The page URL contains the ID you searched, so you can bookmark a trace or paste the link into a support ticket.

IDs You Can Search

IDWhere it comes from
Click IDThe {click_id} AffClix generated for the click.
Affiliate click IDThe affiliate's own click ID, passed on the tracking link.
Transaction ID / Order IDSent by the advertiser in the conversion postback or by your store integration.
Conversion IDThe ID shown in the Conversions report.

A transaction, order or conversion ID is traced back to its click. When more than one click matches, for example the same affiliate click ID reused, a list of matches is shown — pick one to see its trace.

Nothing found?

Clicks are kept for your plan's data retention period. Test clicks from the Link Tester are included. If a conversion is found but its click is not, it is a view-through conversion or the click is past retention — the conversion is still shown.

Reading a Trace

  1. Start with the verdict

"No targeting, cap or fraud rule stopped this click" means the click was accepted. Otherwise the reason is listed, with an Open link to the rule so you can fix it straight away.

  2. Check for a conversion

No conversion on the timeline usually means the advertiser never sent the postback, or sent it without this click ID. Compare with Advertiser Postbacks.

  3. Read the "Why" column

A rejected or pending conversion shows the reason in plain words — a duplicate, a cap, a failed lead check and so on.

  4. Confirm the affiliate was told

An affiliate postback entry on the timeline shows the call AffClix made to the affiliate and the response it got back.

Common Rejection Reasons

Reason shownWhat to do
A targeting rule matchedOpen the rule from the verdict. Check geo, device, connection type and day / hour conditions. Targeting Rules
Repeat click inside the unique-click windowThe visitor clicked before. The click is counted as non-unique.
The visitor was sent to the fallback URLA rule or cap redirected the click. No conversion is expected on this campaign.
Lead email, phone or quality checksThe lead failed a check set on the campaign. Lead Validation
Cap reachedSee the cap hit on the timeline, then Capping Logs.

Who Sees What

Click Lookup needs the general report permission. Each part of the trace then follows the permission of the report it comes from, so a team member never sees more here than in those reports:

  • Conversions need the Conversions report permission, and searching by transaction, order or conversion ID needs it too.
  • Affiliate postbacks, advertiser postbacks and cap hits need their log permissions.
  • Payout, revenue and IP address are hidden without the matching report permissions.
  • Team members only find clicks for the affiliates and advertisers assigned to them.
