Choosing a Campaign Type

When you create a campaign, you pick a type — the industry type your offer belongs to. The type determines how conversions are tracked, what counts as a qualifying action, and which payout models are available to you. This guide walks you through all five types so you can pick the right one and configure it correctly.

Overview

Each campaign has one type. Think of it as telling the platform what kind of business you're promoting — that way it knows which actions to track, which steps are required before a payout is earned, and how to calculate what affiliates are owed.

Standard

For everyday offers where a single completed action earns a commission — no industry-specific rules needed.

  • One conversion = one payout
  • Quickest to set up

Best for: e-commerce, app installs, simple sign-ups.

iGaming

Tracks players from registration through to depositing, wagering, and revenue generation — with full bonus and chargeback handling.

  • One-time CPA or ongoing RevShare
  • Qualifying deposit window

Best for: online casinos, sportsbooks, poker rooms.

Crypto

Pays commission after a referred user completes their first trade, with an optional identity verification gate.

  • KYC verification step (optional)
  • Minimum trade amount

Best for: crypto exchanges, DeFi platforms, wallets.

Forex

Supports one-time funded-account payouts, per-lot trading commissions, and a multi-tier Introducing Broker structure.

  • Introducing Broker (two-tier) support
  • Pay per lot traded

Best for: forex brokers, CFD platforms, prop-trading firms.

Lead Gen

Collects, validates, deduplicates, and delivers leads to buyers via redirect, real-time API, or email.

  • Duplicate suppression window
  • Quality score threshold

Best for: insurance, finance leads, CPL and CPQL buyers.

You cannot change the type once conversions have been recorded

Switching types on a live campaign would break your existing conversion history. If you need to change the type, archive the current campaign and create a new one.

How to Choose a Type

Go to Campaigns → Create Campaign → Basic Info and select your type from the dropdown. As soon as you save, the platform shows the extra settings that apply to that type below the main campaign fields.

If your offer is…Choose this type
An app install, purchase, or general sign-up Standard
An online casino, sportsbook, or poker room iGaming
A crypto exchange, DeFi platform, or wallet Crypto / DeFi
A forex broker, CFD, or prop-trading firm Forex / CFD
A lead buyer expecting redirects or API-delivered leads Lead Gen

Standard Type

Standard is the simplest option. Your affiliate sends traffic, a visitor completes the desired action (a purchase, sign-up, or form fill), and a commission is earned. There are no extra qualification steps or waiting periods.

You set the payout amount directly on the campaign. If you want to pay different affiliates different rates, use Payout Rules to override the default on a per-affiliate basis.

Available commission structures

  • CPA — Cost Per Action: A flat fee every time the conversion action is completed.
  • CPL — Cost Per Lead: A flat fee per lead submitted, regardless of what happens next.
  • CPS — Cost Per Sale: A percentage of the sale value, so larger purchases earn a larger commission.
Nothing extra to configure

Standard campaigns don't have an additional settings panel. Everything you need is already on the main campaign form.

iGaming Type

iGaming campaigns support two payout approaches that can run side-by-side:

  • FTD-CPA — a one-time commission paid when a referred player makes their first qualifying deposit.
  • RevShare — an ongoing percentage of the revenue that player generates for the operator, calculated each period.

First Time Deposit (FTD) Settings

These settings control what counts as a qualifying first deposit before a CPA commission is paid out.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Minimum Deposit AmountNone (any amount)The smallest first deposit that qualifies for a CPA payout. Deposits below this amount are recorded but do not trigger a commission. Leave at zero to accept any deposit.
CPA Qualification Window30 daysThe number of days after a player registers in which their first deposit must occur to count. If a player deposits after this window, no CPA is paid. Increase this if your advertiser's players typically take longer to convert.
The clock starts at registration

The qualification window begins the moment a player registers, not when they click the affiliate's link. Make sure your advertiser is sending registration confirmations promptly so the timeline is accurate.

RevShare Settings

These settings control how and when ongoing revenue commissions are calculated.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Revenue PeriodMonthlyHow often affiliate earnings from player revenue are calculated. Choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. At the end of each period, the platform totals up player revenue and applies the affiliate's RevShare percentage.
Negative CarryoverOffIf a player wins big in a period, their revenue contribution can go negative, which would reduce the affiliate's earnings. With carryover on, that negative balance rolls into the next period. With it off, the slate resets to zero at the start of each period — the affiliate simply earns nothing for that period rather than going into the red.

NGR vs GGR — which should you use?

Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) is gross player losses minus bonuses, chargebacks, and fees — what the operator actually keeps. This is the most common choice.

Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) is player losses before any deductions. Choose this only if your advertiser has explicitly agreed to share gross revenue and will handle deductions on their side.

When in doubt, use NGR. Your account manager can help you align this with your advertiser's deal terms.

What gets tracked in an iGaming campaign

Player ActionWhy it matters
RegistrationStarts the CPA qualification clock
Identity Verification (KYC)Required in some regulated markets before CPA fires
First Time DepositTriggers the CPA payout
Subsequent DepositsContributes to RevShare calculations
WithdrawalsDeducted from revenue for RevShare
Bets & WinsUsed to calculate Gross Gaming Revenue
Bonuses CreditedDeducted from Net Gaming Revenue
Bonuses ForfeitedAdded back to Net Gaming Revenue
Chargebacks & RefundsDeducted from Net Gaming Revenue
Check your contract before enabling Negative Carryover

Some regions and affiliate agreements do not permit negative balances being passed to affiliates. Review your deal terms before turning this on.

Crypto / DeFi Type

Crypto campaigns pay a CPA commission when a referred user completes their First Trade Action (FTA) — their initial buy, sell, or investment on the platform. You can add an identity verification gate that holds the payout until the user passes KYC.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Require Identity Verification (KYC)OnWhen on, the CPA commission is held until the referred user passes the exchange's identity check. The payout is released automatically once verification is confirmed — there's no expiry. Turn this off only for platforms that don't require identity verification.
Minimum Trade AmountNoneThe smallest first trade that qualifies for a CPA. Trades below this value are recorded but don't pay. Leave blank to accept trades of any size.

What gets tracked in a Crypto campaign

User ActionWhy it matters
Account RegistrationRecords that the user came through an affiliate link
Identity Verification (KYC)Unlocks payout when KYC is required
First Trade ActionTriggers the CPA payout
Deposits & WithdrawalsVisible in the user's activity timeline
KYC hold has no expiry

If a user completes their first trade before passing KYC, the commission is held in a pending state. It releases the moment their identity check clears — even if that's weeks later.

Forex / CFD Type

Forex campaigns offer three ways to pay affiliates:

  • FFA-CPA — a one-time commission when a referred trader funds their account for the first time.
  • Per Lot — a fixed amount for every lot the referred trader trades.
  • Introducing Broker (IB) — an ongoing commission on the spread or fees generated by referred traders, sharable across two tiers of affiliates.

First Funded Account (FFA) Settings

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Minimum DepositNoneThe minimum amount a trader must deposit to qualify as a "First Funded Account." Deposits below this amount don't trigger the CPA. Leave blank to accept any deposit size.

Introducing Broker (IB) Settings

IB mode lets you pay sub-affiliates a share of commissions from traders they refer to your affiliates. The platform supports two tiers:

  • Tier 1 — the direct affiliate who referred the trader.
  • Tier 2 — an affiliate who referred the Tier-1 affiliate (optional).
SettingDefaultWhat it does
Enable Introducing Broker ModeOffTurns on the IB commission structure and unlocks the tier percentage fields.
Tier 1 Commission Rate—The percentage of spread/fee revenue paid to the direct affiliate (e.g., 25%). This is applied to the revenue generated by their referred traders each period.
Tier 2 Commission RateNone (single-tier)The percentage paid to the affiliate who recruited the Tier-1 affiliate. Leave blank to run a single-tier IB structure.

RevShare Settings

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Revenue PeriodMonthlyHow often spread/fee RevShare commissions are calculated. Options: Daily, Weekly, Monthly.
Negative CarryoverOffSame behaviour as iGaming: when on, a negative period balance rolls into the next period; when off, it resets to zero.

What gets tracked in a Forex campaign

Trader ActionWhy it matters
Account RegistrationRecords the trader as referred by an affiliate
First Funded AccountTriggers the CPA payout
Lots TradedBasis for Per Lot and RevShare calculations
WithdrawalsVisible in the trader's activity record
How Per Lot commissions work

Your broker reports how many lots a trader has traded. The platform multiplies that number by the per-lot rate you've set and credits the affiliate. Pip values, spreads, and currency conversions are handled on the broker's side — you just configure the rate per lot.

Available commission structures

  • CPA — One-time payout on First Funded Account
  • Per Lot — Fixed amount for every lot traded
  • RevShare on Trading Fee — Percentage of fees charged to the trader
  • RevShare on Spread — Percentage of spread revenue
  • Introducing Broker (IB) — Multi-tier RevShare using the tier percentages above

Lead Gen Type

Lead Gen campaigns collect contact details from visitors and deliver them to a buyer — either by redirecting the visitor, sending the data to the buyer's system in real time, or emailing the lead. Built-in duplicate checking and quality scoring ensure you only pay for valid, unique leads.

Lead Delivery Settings

Choose how leads are sent to the buyer once they're collected.

Delivery MethodHow it worksBest for
RedirectThe visitor is forwarded directly to the buyer's landing page or thank-you page after submitting their details.Simple lead flows where the buyer wants the visitor on their site.
Ping-Post (Real-Time API)The platform sends the lead data instantly to a URL you provide. The buyer's system receives it in real time and can respond with a custom price.Buyers who want leads delivered to their CRM or system immediately.
EmailLead details are emailed to the buyer's configured address.Buyers who prefer a simple inbox-based workflow.

When using Ping-Post, you'll need to enter the buyer's delivery URL and an authentication token (provided by the buyer). The token is sent securely with each lead and is encrypted in storage.

Keep your ping-post token private

This token authenticates every lead sent to the buyer. Only share it with trusted parties, use HTTPS endpoints, and rotate it regularly if you suspect it has been exposed.

Quality & Duplicate Suppression

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Duplicate Window24 hoursIf the same email address or phone number is submitted more than once within this window, only the first submission pays. Later duplicates are flagged and logged but do not earn a commission. Extend this window if your offer sees high re-submission rates.
Minimum Quality Score0 (all leads pay)Each lead receives an automated quality score from 0 to 100. Set a minimum here if you only want to pay for higher-quality leads. Leads that score below the threshold are logged but do not trigger a payout. Leave at 0 to pay for every lead submitted.

What happens to each lead

StepOutcome
Lead submittedPlatform runs duplicate check and quality scoring
Lead qualifiesCommission paid (CPQL trigger)
Lead rejectedDuplicate or below quality threshold — logged, no payout

Available commission structures

  • CPL — Cost Per Lead: Flat rate paid on every submitted lead, regardless of quality score.
  • CPQL — Cost Per Qualified Lead: Flat rate paid only when a lead passes your quality threshold.
  • Ping-Post Pricing: The payout amount is determined dynamically by the buyer's system response to each ping-post delivery.
